Dr Kakhki a obtenu son doctorat en nutrition animale à l’Université de Guelph, où ses travaux ont porté sur la physiologie nutritionnelle avicole, avec un intérêt particulier pour le rôle des acides gras n-3 dans le développement squelettique ainsi que leurs effets sur la production et la qualité des œufs. Il a par la suite acquis une expérience en recherche et développement au sein de l’industrie de l’alimentation animale. Il est professeur adjoint au Département de biomédecine vétérinaire, où ses activités de recherche portent sur la nutrition avicole et la physiologie nutritionnelle. Ses intérêts de recherche concernent le développement de stratégies nutritionnelles fondées sur des données scientifiques et l’étude des interactions entre l’alimentation, la physiologie, la santé et les performances de production des volailles.
